Writings From Your Favorite (Or At Least I Think So) Sister!

I know you say you are "really busy and stuff" But here's the deal.
You have fans. People who love you and read your blog.
They want to know about your life, in that sarcastic funny tone that you use. You know the one I'm talking about. The one mom ( and all of us) try to mimic, but just can't quite get.
Your last post was in January. And it wasn't that we didn't love it. We really did.
We just NEED more. More Megan.
We need to know you better and our quest for knowledge will not be stopped until we know the following.

1) Did you change your major or was that just an evil rumor we heard, that is meant to keep you at
BYU-I FOR-Ev-Er?

2) Boys? We're all thinking it. I'm just saying!

3) Life goals?

4) EFY? You're cute little kids from last year called and they want you (back)! (said like a great Uncle Sam poster)

5) Facebook? Another rumor. Will you actually get a Facebook page or continue using mine? Just a thought.

6) Who really is your favorite sister? We know McKenna, but maybe who's your second fav? Ok fine! I just really want to know where I fall. Remember how I let you sleep in my room for years....Just saying.

7) When are you coming to see me? Because isn't it about time? (Insert LDS logo here)

8) Who is your favorite, Adele or Celine?

9) What's with all of our cousins getting pregnant? It's like they planned it or something. Did I miss a memo somewhere? Let's start our own Heart Harper Forever Club and show them. That will teach them.  (P.S. do you secretly want to join that club as badly as I do? We can play Miss Hannigan!)

10) True or False: Jared is your favorite Brother in law?
Hint: True! :)

I just really miss you and think we should talk soon, oh ya and you should probably update your blog. It looks like you are getting lazy.  Like you have a life or something else to do beside Pin things and write on your blog. So lazy!

Mmmk?

K Bye!!

Time For a Cliche Year End Post

Why is time going SO fast?
Can you believe it's already 2012.
I can't.
Bummer that the world is going to end this year, thanks mayans.
Have you really thought about that though?
What if this was your last year?
What would you do?

I would like to have babies.
White and Black.
Which means probably find a hubby.
And finish school.
And visit more places then I can count.
It would be a really busy year.
I'm very glad it's not my last.

Anywho....
2011 was a fantastic year.
Started out in a new state.
Where I made some new/old amazing friends.
And gained a new life goal of being a sun chaser.

I made it through a whole semester of school!
(My goal for this year is to finish my last three...we'll see how that goes)

I found a new love in the form of running.
(Mostly I just love the little shorts..helllooo)
I ran in 6 different states this year...Hawaii being my favorite.
Sorry others, but running on the beach is love like whoa!

I got to be and EFY counselor.
In which I discovered that teenagers aren't as scary as I thought, that I can do nearly impossible things, and that God is always by our side.

I gained an new undying love of the East Coast.
Brought on by New York, Virginia, and our Nation's Capital.
Seriously East Coasters, do you realize you have it all?
And are you excited for me to join you some day?!

I became a substitute teacher.
Where I learned that teenagers are as scary as I thought, that I can do nearly impossible things, and that God is always by our side.

And most important-
I got to go to Disneyland.
It is still THE happiest place on Earth.

I love looking back on the highlights. It's like the lowlights didn't even happen.
I also love that it's a whole new year (and possibly the last one??--see Mayans above).

And I also love that I have a whole new year ahead with lots of new adventures to share with all of you.

XoXoXo to you 2011.
(This is my favorite pic to sum up my feelings on the end of 2011.
Done, done, totally done.)

Things I Missed Today

My Africa babies.
I wonder what they're doing.
The Sun.
And my Hawaii beaches....

I think I have the travel bug.
Hard core.
Anyone up for a new adventure??

Let me give a little prefix to this post.
I am no skinny minny/ personal trainer/ work out pro.
But I have seen a world of difference in myself since I have started working out consistently.
I hope that someone out there will read this and maybe it will help them feel as happy as it has made me!

That being said:
If you're like me, every now and then you need a little push to work out.
Whether it's your long run day, you don't feel well, or are just too sleepy to get out of bed.
I know it is not always easy to find the energy and motivation.

Here's some things that help me:
I subscribed to runnersworld.com Quote of the Day. Every night at 11:00 I get an email with a motivational quote from other runners about what gets them moving. Even though it's about running it helps push you for any work out you want to do that day.

Look up quotes/pictures that help motivate you. Here are some of mine:

(images via Pinterest)

Think of those who can't run.
Or who should not be able to but still do.
Watch this video and learn more about Terry Fox, his story is amazing!

Shake it up.
Doing the same work out every day can put you in a rut that is real hard to get out of.
There are so many work outs out there. Try something new!
Zumba, kickboxing, swimming, hip-hop dancing, cycling, elliptical machines, weight lifting, basketball, soccer, yoga, lots and lots of workout videos and websites (like this one).

Make a plan to work out with someone.
And do NOT cancel on them.
Push yourself to show them how tough you are, and hard you can go.

Make yourself a little reward jar.
Every time you work out add in a quarter or a dollar. Once you've saved up buy yourself those new Sauconys or that Garmin you've always wanted.
This way you're always working towards something.

A big thing for me to remember is that I am not working out to be stick thin.
I work out to be healthy and because it makes me happy!
Don't get discouraged by days that set you back. Tomorrow is another day and you get to start again and push twice as hard as you did before.

Remember, you always regret not doing a workout, you never regret doing it!

Dear Loves,

I am trying something new and different for this post.

Please tell me you are love and loving braids as much as I am right now.
Here are some I am dying over.
I learned how to do them from the tutorials below (click on the words below the pics)--they are both really good and very easy to follow.
So if you wanted to jump on this trend train...

Right Side Above
and
Left Side Below
(my pieces are pretty chunky, but it's just because I have REAL thick hair-adjust to yours--also, I went all the way around my head, the tutorial shows just the front, either way looks simply adorbs.)
